Clink78, Hostel Refurbishment & Heritage Restoration

Our Project

The Clink78 project involves the refurbishment and restoration of a Grade II listed former
courthouse in King’s Cross, London, transforming the historic building into a modern hostel while
preserving its architectural character. The 40,108 sq. ft. scheme includes the refurbishment
and reconfiguration of guest accommodation, communal areas and supporting facilities. Delivered
in accordance with listed building consent, the works balance heritage conservation with
contemporary hospitality requirements, enhancing functionality and the overall guest experience.

The works include refurbished hostel bedrooms, upgraded finishes, improved building services
and modernised guest amenities and welfare facilities. Particular attention is given to protecting
and restoring original architectural features, integrating the building’s historic character into the
renewed interior spaces. Delivered under a JCT Design & Build contract, the project combines
heritage-sensitive restoration with modern fit-out techniques to improve operational efficiency,
guest comfort and the long-term use of this historic property.
