Accounts & Payroll Officer

About The Job

We are seeking an Accounts and Payroll Officer to join our team at Elliott Group to cover maternity leave.

This is a full-time, office-based role, located at our County Cavan offices. An early start is preferred to facilitate a structured training period and handover.
The position is offered until August 2027.

 

Responsibilities 

  • Lead and oversee the accounts’ payable function, including day-to-day management of the accounts payable team and ensuring invoices are processed accurately, efficiently, and in line with company policies.
  • Process and review supplier invoices, ensuring correct coding, authorisation, and timely posting to the finance system.
  • Perform monthly creditor reconciliations and manage supplier payment runs, resolving any discrepancies and responding to supplier queries as required.
  • Assist in the preparation, review, and reconciliation of weekly and monthly payrolls, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant statutory requirements.
  • Process customer invoices and receipts, maintaining accurate sales ledger records and supporting timely cash collection.
  • Complete bank reconciliations across multiple currencies, investigating and resolving variances in a timely manner.
  • Assist with the processing of subcontractor payments, including verification of documentation and compliance with relevant contractual and regulatory requirements.
  • Support the wider finance team with ad hoc reporting, audits, and process improvement initiatives as required.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Preferably two years’ experience in accounts payable or a bookkeeping qualification
  • Experience in payroll
  • Proficient in Excel

ISO Requirements:

  • Comply with Elliott’s ISO QEHS Management System requirements i.e. perform your work according to your department process documents, procedures and maintaining document information/completing department forms/records as required.
  • Understand and apply our QEHS policies in all aspects of your work.
  • Contribute towards achieving Elliott company objectives and our department KPI’s
  • Ensure that the needs and requirements of Elliott’s internal departments and customers are understood and delivered.
  • Help develop and improve our internal processes and management system by reporting corrective actions, updates and improvement ideas.
