Lord Mayor and Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage mark the start of construction on 578 homes at An Droichead \u00d3rga<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Lord Mayor of Dublin, Councillor Ray McAdam and Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, James Browne TD, today officially marked the start of construction at An Droichead \u00d3rga in Inchicore, Dublin 8.<\/p>\n

An Droichead \u00d3rga is a landmark Dublin City Council development by that will deliver 578 new homes in a mixed tenure scheme comprising 137 social homes and 441 cost rental homes, alongside significant community and public amenities.<\/p>\n

Elliott Group have been appointed as the construction contractor for the residential element of the scheme, with an initial contract to deliver the first 478 homes, together with the creche, library and community hub. The residential development will be delivered across multiple apartment blocks and will include private communal areas for residents as well as shared public spaces.<\/p>\n

The wider An Droichead \u00d3rga development will also provide additional neighbourhood amenities, including a supermarket, caf\u00e9 and a number of smaller retail units, which will be delivered under a separate contract.<\/p>\n

The homes have been designed to the highest environmental and energy standards.<\/p>\n

The homes at An Droichead \u00d3rga have been designed to the highest environmental and energy performance standards and will be Home Performance Index (HPI) certified and EU Taxonomy compliant, reflecting Dublin City Council\u2019s commitment to sustainable, future\u2011focused housing delivery.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the event, Lord Mayor of Dublin, Councillor Ray McAdam said: <\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cToday marks an important milestone for Inchicore and for Dublin City as a whole. The commencement of construction at An Droichead \u00d3rga represents years of collaboration, planning and engagement to realise a vision that places community, quality and sustainability at its core.<\/em><\/p>\n

This development will not only deliver much\u2011needed homes but will also provide vital social infrastructure that will support everyday life in the area. It reflects the strong partnership between Dublin City Council, local residents and delivery partners in shaping a place that meets both present and future needs. I look forward to returning here as this site transforms into a thriving, integrated neighbourhood that reflects the character and ambition of Dublin 8<\/em>.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
