The Wyldewoods, Chester celebrates reaching its highest point<\/strong><\/p>\n

Retirement Villages Group and principal contractor Elliott Group came together this week with local friends and dignitaries to celebrate the first building at The Wyldewoods, a new integrated retirement community in Boughton Heath, Chester, reaching its highest point.<\/p>\n

Guests walked up to the rooftop to mark the occasion by signing some of the roof tiles which will be fitted on the roof for the lifespan of the building.<\/p>\n

The moment was a poignant way to mark the completion of the structure of the first building and to officially name the development \u2018The Wyldewoods\u2019 in homage to its history as a garden centre, set amidst mature trees with plans for beautifully landscaped grounds.<\/p>\n

The new community \u2013 being built on the disused former Beechmoor Garden Centre on Whitchurch Road \u2013 will feature 155 apartments across six villas, alongside a range of amenities including a restaurant, caf\u00e9 and wellness area open to people from the surrounding area as well as residents.<\/p>\n

Part of Retirement Villages Group\u2019s Thrive Living collection, The Wyldewoods has been designed to regenerate the disused site for the benefit of everyone locally, while creating positive life choices and improving quality of life, health, and social opportunity for retirees.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the ceremony,<\/strong> Tim Seddon, Chief Property Officer at Retirement Villages Group, said: <\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cReaching the highest point or \u2018topping out\u2019 the first building at The Wyldewoods is a fantastic milestone and we are thrilled to be celebrating this achievement with representatives from the local community including our community liaison group who have been so instrumental in helping us to connect with local people and businesses in the area.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Wyldewoods is one of the first developments in our Thrive Living collection and will be a community that\u2019s knitted into the wider neighbourhood, where residents and local people meet, socialise, and connect. This is so important for people in later life who want to say active, independent and connected for as long as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n

Eddie Campion, <\/strong>Managing Director for Elliott Group, said: <\/strong><\/p>\n

“Today marks not just the reaching of a physical point in construction, but a milestone in collaboration and commitment. Elliott Group are proud to be a part of this development and would like to sincerely thank the entire project team onsite for their work in taking us to these heights today. The Wyldewoods stands not only as a testament to construction achievement but as a promise of vibrant life and connectivity for future residents and the local community.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Set to open in late 2024, the new community will deliver a \u00a339m boost to the local economy and create more than 300 jobs through the construction process.\u00a0 It will also increase spending in the local area by \u00a31.5 million every year and create 30 full time jobs.<\/p>\n

Guests on site heard how the community will become an exemplar of sustainability as a whole of life net zero carbon development. Through high performance construction materials, efficient heating and hot water generation via air source heat pump technology, renewable energy generation on site as well as offsetting carbon emissions, the buildings will achieve net zero carbon emissions when in use. A sustainable transport hub will provide cycle hire and electric vehicle charging points.<\/p>\n
